The Legal Service Commission is constituted under Part IX of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore. The Commission has jurisdiction over all officers in the Singapore Legal Service. The Commission has the following functions and powers over these officers: appointment, confirmation, emplacement on the permanent establishment, promotion, transfer, disciplinary control and dismissal.
